Although the stressmonkeys are biting from time to time, everything's coming together bit by bit. Got Dave's ensemble sorted, and he's looking pretty dapper. My vintage gown needs one more fitting before it's mine, all mine, and we're sorted on the venue. Exciting stuff. We're putting together a set list for the DJ, and that's the fun part. Good mix of eighties, cheesy pop and funky tunes are guaranteed.
Today, we booked the flights for the big H. After crossing off Brazil, Cuba, Belize, Mexico and Bali off the list, we're fixed on a week in Mauritius followed by a fortnight in Madagascar, right on time for baby lemur season. The facebook crew will already be somewhat aware about how excited I'm getting about the baby lemurs. I'm not ashamed. I'm a lemur lover and proud. Well, y'know, not lover per se... more of a baby lemur fancier. Oh wait.
Anyways, we've still got to sort out the rings, which we've shortlisted, invites and accommodation whilst we're island hopping over in that Indian ocean. Busy busy.
I'm conscious of this wedding malarkey taking over my life, so here's something to balance this out. Went over to the Kazbar on Monday night to celebrate Jo's new house purchase, and I thought I'd indulge in a cocktail. I went for a fig and vanilla daiquiri and the bar man put a cocktail glass on the table and filled it with some liquid and ice. Looked a bit clear to be a cocktail, but I figured it was one of those new types. (Yes. Shut up.)
Paulette was waiting on her wine, so I tasted the cocktail and couldn't taste anything. Thought maybe my tastebuds were screwy so had another bit before the barman saw me and said:
"No - that's for chilling the glass!"
Erm. Yes.
The real cocktail was lovely in the end. Probably made better by the cold glass. Ahem.

Of course, I knew all along it was just water in the glass... honest!
